There is still this expectation, no matter the woman's political orientation, that men will fight, die and go to jail for women. Sure, some women might say they don't want men to sacrifice for them, but you have to count the incidents when it is at least implicit that you should "do something". The loud guy next door is getting on her nerves. You are expected to do something about him, even if her own irritability is the real cause for your grief. It doesn't matter that a fight could ensue with the subsequent outcomes like going to jail. It is expected that you fight and die for her.
It is also expected that you should be the most tolerant human being on Earth, in terms of her behavior. Noticeably, she can't be wrong. You should understand her and if she doesn't understand you, then you have to get used to it. This is related to the man having to fight and die for her, in the sense that a man must be the strong one and sacrificing even when she's the wrong one.
